The Economics Times, Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp, the world's No.2 steelmaker, has no plans to further consolidate itssteel plants in Japan, Executive Vice President Kosei Shindo said on Friday.
Shindo, who will replace Hiroshi Tomono as president from April 1, also told reporters that Nippon Steel is not worried about domestic steel demand after a sales tax hike in the fiscal year starting next month.
